U.S. Soccer Federation: High-Performance Leadership

Nearly a decade ago (😅), during our 1:1's, I asked my adidas team for feedback on how I was showing up as a leader. One of my team members gave me some of the most helpful feedback I've received (roughly): "You share plans that are so polished and complete, and then ask for our input, but it's hard to know if there's space to shape them or if the question is more rhetorical."

Ouch. 🥴 And: I needed that. Because I did want their input, I just hadn't made it feel possible.

I've been working with Teena Murray + the U.S. Soccer Federation High Performance Leadership team. Watching Teena work with her team, I was reminded what's possible when a leader listens + creates space for people to help shape the team's work. And not performatively.

👉 People need to know their input will impact the work, not just validate a leader's thinking.

Thanks, Teena, for trusting me with this work as you build what's next back home and on the global stage. 🙏🏻
